The 6 Community-Led Tracks
Qualitative and Interpretive Community Track
Focusing on qualitative and interpretive inquiry as lived methodological practice, this track encourages reflexive engagement with research design, analysis, ethics, and representation.
- Key Topics: Qualitative research design, digital/computational qualitative tools (including LLMs), creative & arts-based methods, feminist and decolonial frameworks, care-centric practices, and analytical quality/transparency.
Case-Based Methods & Comparative Methods Community Track
Dedicated to scholars applying and developing case-based, comparative, and configurational approaches with an emphasis on causal inference, complexity, and integration.
Key Topics: Innovations in small- and intermediate-N designs, process tracing, Set-Theoretic Methods (QCA, CNA), comparative historical analysis, and integrating AI into case-based research.
Statistical and Computational Approaches Community Track
A vibrant forum for computational, statistical, and data-intensive research across the social sciences, addressing both technical innovation and theoretical/ethical implications.

Research Methods Teaching Community of Practice Track
Dedicated to the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) in research methods across disciplines and teaching modalities.
- Key Topics: AI in the research methods classroom, innovative assessment & ungrading, field-based and online pedagogy, supervising student research, and teaching the “invisible” craft of research.
