CEU’s Vienna campus is well connected by public transportation and is located in Favoriten, the Austrian capital’s multicultural 10th district and one of the city’s most diverse locales. It is easily accessible from across the city and beyond, with tram stops and railway and underground stations nearby.
Travelling to Vienna
From the Airport
ÖBB Railjet trains run twice per hour daily from Vienna Airport to Vienna Main Station (U1) and the journey takes only 15 minutes. On arrival at Hauptbahnhof Wien railway station, take the subway U1 to Reumannplatz (direction Oberlaa, 2 stops), then Tram 6 or 11 to Schrankenberggasse (direction Kaiserebersdorf/Zinnergasse, 2 stops). Alternatively, Tram D from the railway station (direction Absberggasse, 6 stops), then 5-minute walk.
Campus Accessibility
CEU is committed to create spaces that are user-friendly for all community members and visitors, including people with vision and hearing impairments or mobility aids. A number of accessibility features and tools are available.
Bicycles
The University also encourages the use of bicycles as a healthy and sustainable form of transportation, and many community members are year-round bikers. If you commute by bicycle, you can utilize the parking stands located at the from and back entrances of the Quellenstrasse building.
A shower for commuters is located on the ground floor, across from the locker storage area.
Parking
The Vienna campus offers a parking space for short-term and long-term parking for CEU employees.

Accommodation
CEU does not offer student accommodation during the Summer School, however the city offers a vast selection or accommodation options. We will have a suggested list of hotels and options with travel times to the campus – coming soon.
Looking for Shared Accommodation?
Check out the Residence ‘Heim‑Vorteil’ Ankerbrot(fabrik) offering modern living in the new Bienvenue urban district and it’s only a 10-minute walk to campus. Address: Puchsbaumgasse 1/6, 1100 Vienna – Quartier Bienvenue.
There are 2 or 3 bedroom apartments available, each with private, single bedrooms. Apartments are fully furnished, with a TV and Wi-Fi. Bedrooms include a single bed, wardrobe, desk with office chair, shelves and coat rack. Apartments have a kitchen, microwave, induction hob, dishwasher and refrigerator with freezer. You need to being your own bedding, pillows, towels and cooking/eating utensils.
The website provides lots of photos including room plans and prices. Other facilities include communal kitchens, exercise room, roof terrace with ball games area, music practice rooms, laundromat, common spaces and bicycle storage room.
Prices for 2026
Prices are based on one month but apartments can be booked for shorter duration, however the price remains the same. This means you can rent an apartment for a month between other participants staying for one or two weeks.
Example price: 2 bedroom apartment for one week costs between € 561-587 which is from €40 per night per person. Plus a cleaning fee, processing fee and deposit.
